Stop by the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.
Guadalupe Moreno started Mi Morena, a tacos de guisado business, to offer San Francisco diners traditional tacos with quality ingredients and handmade tortillas, including chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian options. “De guisado” refers to the homemade stewed fillings, and her dishes are rooted in the cuisine of her home of Mexico City. Originally from Mexico D.F., her passion for cooking stemmed from inheriting her “Sazón” (flavor) from her mom and strives to achieve owning a Mexican food business on her own.
This demo is part of a series featuring participants of the La Cocina business incubator program, in anticipation of the opening of the La Cocina Municipal Marketplace, a women-led food hall located at 101 Hyde Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. CUESA partners with La Cocina to offer market opportunities for low-income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses.
All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
