About 5 years ago we realized we had many local business wanting to open shops at the Ferry Building – but simply no room to expand. Finally, we realized that storage space along the north arcade between Gott’s Roadside and the Clock Tower could be a space for small retails shops. And so after a few years of planning, earlier this year we opened shops on the OUTSIDE of the building. We’ve watched the farmers market do it three times a week for years, no matter rain or fog, so we thought we’d do it too! Under the North Arcade of our façade, facing the Embarcadero, there are now five wonderful shops, each offering something unique and delicious. And to celebrate our brand new shops, we are presenting a monthly event that we are so proud of. From July through October, every third Thursday we’re setting up a Night Café. We dress up the place with red tables and chairs, and also some red balloons (alas, not 99…). Amplified music and special samples from the five North Arcade shops in a beautiful atmosphere, what more could you want for a late lunch date or an early evening snack!
