Chef Wanda Blake, Wanda’s Cooking

Chef Wanda Blake, Wanda’s Cooking

Stop by the Foodwise Classroom for a cooking demo featuring the seasonal bounty of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Wanda’s Cooking delivers culturally affirming meals that honor and celebrate the unique histories, traditions, and customs of each dish. Their housemade Pepper Chowchow is a Southern classic relish used as a condiment or as a cooking ingredient.

In 2015, Chef Wanda Blake started Wanda’s Cooking as a pop-up restaurant event to share and express her passion for food culture. The pop-ups became an intimate series of curated restaurant experiences. Wanda’s cooking apprenticeship started in her mother’s kitchen and extended to the kitchens of great Aunts, Aunties, Grandma, Cousins, and the Mothers of friends. Professional training took place in 1981 at City College of San Francisco, Hotel and Restaurant Management Program.

All demos take place in the Foodwise Classroom (under the tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
