Fort Point Beer Company

Fort Point Beer Company is a New American Brewery, shaped by San Franciscan values: quality craftsmanship and a spirit of innovation. Fort Point creates balanced, thoughtful beers that reference traditional styles, but are no means bound to them. The Presidio based brewery strives to make beers that tell a story, inspire an idea, and are thoroughly enjoyable.

Fort Point’s North Arcade kiosk marks the company’s first retail location, an opportunity for customers to enjoy brewery-fresh beer onsite or packaged to take home. Fort Point is excited to offer pints in the kiosk’s attached beer garden, along with locally sourced hot dogs and pretzels. In addition to the tasting bar onsite, the space focuses on filling 64oz growlers of year-round and limited release styles, delivered daily from the brewery.

Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant

In the style of European wine merchants, Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant is a classic, hands-on, service-oriented shop for buying, tasting, and learning about wine. The nearly 3,000 square foot shop carries smaller production wines from around the world, as well as everyday, high-quality labels. There is a strong but selective emphasis on California and other American wines; wines from great French, Italian and Spanish producers; offerings from new regions, such as in New Zealand and Australia; and less widely recognized favorites from Germany and Austria. Icons help shoppers easily identify dry and sweet wines, organically grown wines, etc. Seated at the dark wood wine bar, visitors can taste from selections that change weekly.

Foodwise Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market hours, 10 AM – 2 PM Tue/Thu – 8 AM – 2 PM Sat.

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a California certified farmers market operated by Foodwise. It is open three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, year round, rain or shine. The large Saturday market is held in the back plaza overlooking the Bay, along the south side of the building, and in front of the building along the Embarcadero. The Tuesday and Thursday markets take place in front of the building. All three weekly markets offer produce and flowers from top Bay Area farms, many of which are organic. A wealth of other product includes regional meat, seafood, and artisanal specialties — such as breads, cheeses, and jams — as well as street food offerings for brunch and lunch.

On Saturdays, 30,000 shoppers, locals and travelers alike, attend the market. More than 300 Bay Area restaurants shop at the market on a weekly basis. The Foodwise mission is to cultivate a sustainable food system, giving preference to local farmers that use sustainable methods, and prepared food vendors who source ingredients from those farmers. Foodwise hosts about 70 farmers and 50 artisan and prepared food vendors, some of which are seasonal. On Saturdays, Foodwise offers free cooking demos and public education programs at the Foodwise Classroom tent in front of the building.

Blue Bottle Coffee

Blue Bottle Coffee has two locations in the Ferry Building Marketplace. The older location is a modern espresso bar in the north nave, and the newer location, their Tasting Room, is out front in the North Arcade. Coffee drinks include a menu of espresso drinks, individually prepared drip coffee, and New Orleans iced coffee. Blue Bottle also offers daily desserts using mostly organic ingredients and other coffee-compatible edibles such as granola and Belgian waffles.

At Blue Bottle Coffee, artisan micro roasting simply means that Blue Bottle takes a hands-on approach to every step possible to discover and preserve the true nature of excellent coffee. Blue Bottle Coffee takes freshness and small-batch roasting to an extreme not considered practical anywhere else in the coffee business. Blue Bottle uses the best certified organic coffees, occasionally using beautiful coffees that are farmed traditionally without pesticides. Blue Bottle never pre-blends coffees thus assuring the ideal roast profile for each bean used in a blend. All varietals are roasted individually, and then mixed into Blue Bottle Coffee blends.
