Ferry Terminals To Expand!

The Water Emergency Transportation Authority’s (WETA) has broken ground on the expansion of the ferry terminals, and we here at the Ferry Building Marketplace are thrilled! The project has been underway for a while and there is still some to go, but we are looking forward to seeing a robust ferry system return to the area.

The current expansion project area includes the lagoon, which will be filled up and turned into a fun public square!

Ferry Building Flavors At Humphry Slocombe!

This May, Humphry Slocombe—the small-batch ice cream brand synonymous with local, ultra-premium flavors—is celebrating the diverse flavors of the Bay Area by showcasing ice cream that reflects the neighborhood personalities of its two stores (the Mission and the Ferry Building).

Since opening in San Francisco eight years ago, Humphry Slocombe has established itself as a leader in cutting-edge flavors and uncompromising quality by pioneering ice cream made with locally sourced fruits, veggies, spices and booze. Co-Founders, Jake Godby (Chef) and Sean Vahey (Food & Beverage Manager) used their extensive culinary backgrounds to create new flavors and experiences never seen before.

But the ice cream is what matters. To celebrate the culinary diversity of the Mission and Ferry Building, Humphry Slocombe will feature 6 flavors at each store that represent each neighborhood’s personality starting on May 1, 2017.

Below is a full list of what it will be offering:

Ferry Building – the historic Ferry Building is a vibrant community of like-minded local farmers, artisan producers, and independently owned and operated food businesses and the customers they serve. Humphry Slocombe has partnered with its artisan neighbors to showcase their signature products.

  • McEvoy Olive Oil & Rhubarb Compote

  • Recchiuti Burnt Caramel Crunch – burnt caramel ice cream with chocolate covered pretzels and peanut butter balls

  • Cowgirl Creamery Fromage blanc with Strawberry Compote

  • Fort Point Smoked Manzanita w/Moonphase Caramel

  • Far West Fungi Candy Cap

  • Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee

Mission District – the Mission is a diverse and artsy neighborhood in San Francisco, with deep Latino roots.  This is where Humphry Slocombe opened its first shop in 2008, and continues to be inspired by the neighborhood to this day.

  • Horchata Rose

  • Mango Chamoy

  • Tortilla Chip & Lime

  • Fernet Fudge

  • Strawberry Margarita Sorbet
