Mill Valley Candleworks is a small kiosk shop that carries a complete line of handcrafted candles, along with candleholders, and other beautiful handmade glass objects and gifts. Each Mill Valley Candleworks candle is hand crafted with care. Only the highest quality food grade waxes, European cotton braided wicks, essential oils, and botanical essences are used in making each hand crafted candle. The exquisite fragrances used by Mill Valley Candleworks are inspired by the garden – with such scents as French lavender, lemon verbena, lilac and Tahitian vanilla.

Owner Michael Salit, was an accomplished chef and businessman when his son, Alex, was diagnosed with autism in 1985. Since then, Michael and his wife Marni, began to look for new and innovative ways to make an impact on the lives of young people with autism and epilepsy. They started Mill Valley Candleworks in 2003 as a way to raise awareness and support for nonprofits working toward the education and care of young people with special needs. The Salits are pleased to have an active role in illuminating people's hearts and homes with the simple, giving and loving act of lighting a candle.
