Heath Ceramics at the Ferry Building

Monday Mar 1
Yes, it's true - Heath Cermics is coming to the historic San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace in March 2010.

Beginning in March, Heath will be among some of the Bay Area’s best organic, artisanal retailers and restaurants at their Ferry Building location. As you may know, the Marketplace is bustling with locals, tourists, commuters and like-minded retailers - the ideal venue for Heath's wares, manufactured just across the Bay in Sausalito.  Their products, history and philosophy are a natural fit with the historic Ferry Building, as well as many of the local shops and restaurants located within - The Slanted Door, Hog Island Oysters, Delica and Blue Bottle Coffee - all currently serving on Heath dinnerware.

“We are excited to expand our presence into San Francisco,” says Heath Ceramics Creative Director and Co-Owner Catherine Bailey. “The Ferry Building’s unique mix of artisanal, local retailers and restaurants, represents the best of northern California. We are a design-driven, small scale, family-owned, Bay Area manufacturing company and our primary goal is to be a local company. We’ve always wanted to be more accessible to our San Francisco customer, and this is the perfect match”

Their newest space is being designed by their favorite Los Angeles interior design firm Commune, also responsible for Heath LA.

While the shop is only about 500 sf, a live-feed on a wall-mounted monitor of their Sausalito factory will allow visitors to feel like they are right there, watching as Heath pieces are made. If that taste of production leaves you wanting more, they'll be coordinating weekend factory tours with the ferry schedule from San Francisco. Hop on, enjoy a ride across the water to Sausalito. Visit their Factory and Store, hop back on the ferry and end up right back where you started, only a couple hours later.

Heath will be located next door to the delicious desserts at Miette, and across from locally roasted Blue Bottle Coffee. Heath will offer their complete line of wares, along with batches of seconds, freshly picked and delivered to the Ferry Building each week.
