Ambatalia- Fabric Society at The Gardener

Molly de Vries is the creator of Ambatalia "making happy" dry goods and a sustainable textiles maven with a passion for a non-disposable life.  She creates beautiful Furoshiki (a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth used to transport produce, gifts, lunch, etc.) and carry-pouches from high quality Japanese Ikat cotton prints, hemp ticking, eclectic vintage Japanese fabrics and reclaimed Indian printed fabric.

The patterns are playful and bright, but mostly these jewels are very practical for the farmer's market. Join us in the Ferry Building this weekend to meet Molly and see her demonstrate wrapping and carrying Furoshiki, and using the pouches to shop in bulk at the market.
