"What should we have for dinner?" Michael Pollan opens his latest book, The Omnivore's Dilemma, with this seemingly simple question. For Pollan, what's at stake is not just the enjoyment of our next meal, but our health, that of our planet, and even our very survival as a species. Pollan's book delves into the origins of four American meals: industrial food, dinner from a natural grocery, food from a small, ecological farm, and a meal foraged and hunted by the author. The book promises that "for anyone who reads it, dinner will never again look, or taste, quite the same."
