Created by Chef Lauren Kiino, Cane Rosso is a casual, quick-serve rotisserie and sandwich shop inspired by the small, family-run food stores that have fed Southern Italy for generations. The shop is open for lunch and early dinner every day. Additionally, it is open for breakfast everyday. The heart of the kitchen is the rotisserie, on which whole chickens, pork, and other meats are roasted. Il Cane Rosso also serves a rotating selection of sandwiches and antipasti. Morning offerings change frequently as well, but may include housemade yogurt and blackberries, or a fried egg sandwich with pancetta, spring onion butter, and mozzarella. Il Cane Rosso is now offering a three-course meal every night from 5 to 9 PM.

Although Italian in style, il Cane Rosso’s food is purely local in origin. The menu takes full advantage of the Bay Area’s fantastic local purveyors, including Prather Ranch, Soul Food Farm and Marin Sun Farms for pasture-raised meat, poultry and eggs; Star Route, Dirty Girl, Mariquita and County Line farms for produce; and Bellwether and Straus for dairy and cheese.
